Guest Commentary: Solving the heartbreaking mystery of Colorado’s growing maternal mortality

DENVER, February 15, 2019 – Four days after the birth of my first child, I waited in a hospital ER for seven hours with soaring blood pressure readings.

State Reps. Janet Buckner, D-Aurora, and Lois Landgraf, R-Fountain, have introduced House Bill 1122 to strengthen the Maternal Mortality Review Committee in Colorado. The bill passed unanimously out of the House Public Health Care and Human Services Committee on Wednesday.
